Black & White 2 is a video game developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Electronic Arts. It blends real-time strategy, city building and god game elements. It was released on 7 October 2005. An expansion pack, Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods, was released on 28 April 2006. It featured a brand new creature (the armour plated turtle) and the tiger from the Black & White 2 Special Edition, three new lands, four new miracles, and an all-new enemy, a god born of death, supposedly hinted to at the end of Black & White 2.

Black & White 2 is a god simulator developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Electronic Arts. It was released October 7, 2005. The concept of the game is to provide the player with complete “god” abilities; ranging from constructing buildings to picking up people and casting miracles. The idea was originally conceived by Peter Molyneux in the prequel, Black & White.
Battle of the Gods constitutes the final edition in Lionhead Studios’ Black and White franchise, an overhead perspective city sim-type game in which the player plays the role of a god summoned by his people to aid them in a time of crisis. The expansion adds a number of additional miracles to the game, including the ability to resurrect dead citizens or transform corpses into undead soldiers. Two additional creatures make an appearance, although neither is new to the franchise; a tortoise, seen in the original Black & White, and the tiger from the Collector’s Edition of Black & White 2.

Gameplay:

The gameplay differs in many respect’s from the previous game, in that you see what your beast is thinking, the usefulness of your army and also heads up display that the first game lacked, whilst the game has a HUD it is much less intrusive then other god games.
Your beast learns from your actions, if you hit it a few time’s when it’s trying to eat your towns-folk it will eventually stop trying.
The first game had your beast learn from repetition, whilst in this game your beast learns from you (the player) buying a power-up. Your beast learns by the way you interact with it. People have criticized that the first game was more realistic in it’s approach to what is essentially a pet, the first game was more obscure in dealing with the creature
The expansion has the same gameplay as B&W2. New buildings include a blacksmith’s shop and a hospital. The expansion adds four new miracles:
Lava Miracle: Causes lava to come out of the ground and burn anything in its path.
Life Miracle: When this miracle is thrown, it resurrects people back from the dead. If thrown on an undead army, it will destroy them. Also, if dropped on a store house, it causes everything in it to multiply and make it full.
Death Miracle: Gives you a temporary army of Melee Skeletons Warriors. If dropped around a populated area, it will kill anyone in its radius and make them a skeleton.
Verdant Miracle: When dropped, this miracle will produce animals either out of nowhere or from people and armies within its radius.
